Sloth Snacks: Hibiscus Flowers!

Lovely flowers brighten up our lives, and Sloth loves them too! Especially Hibiscus flowers — a tasty treat.   Sloths have a very low metabolic rate which means they can survive on relatively small amounts of food.   A single Hibiscus flower is a treat feast for a sloth.

Hibiscus grow all over the world in warm-temperate, subtropical and tropical regions.  People also like to drink tea made from hibiscus flowers:  it is slightly tangy and very refreshing whether served hot or cold.  Hibiscus flowers can also be made into candy or eaten as a delicacy.

Sloth likes them plain and fresh from the plant!  The countries of Haiti, South Korea, and Malaysia love Hibiscus so much they made it their national flower.   Hibiscus is the state flower of Hawaii.  Sloth would love to go to Hawaii to nibble on all of the hibiscus flowers, lay on the beach, and practice some napping on a paddle-board.  Off to Hawaii!
